Reconfigurable Beamforming

Motivation

  • In general, the receive beamforming units are restricted to a single beamforming scheme which is generally delay and sum (DAS) beamforming.
  • In this work a novel reconfigurable beamforming core is proposed which can switch between delay and sum (DAS) beamforming and delay multiply and sum (DMAS) beamforming.
  • Regions of more clinical prominence could be reconstructed through DMAS and less prominent regions with DAS .
